Cheer Us Up You Guys!

We are in desperate need of some cheering up around here, you guys! Both of us for a change, not just one of us, so I am doing what any self respecting Apronista would do... cooking up a house full of comfort food. My friend Marci would be so proud. Her favorite method of stress management is definitely cooking (she is highly skilled in the kitchen, that doesn't hurt), followed closely by laughing till her face hurts. So maybe tonight after we fill our bellies Handsome and I can latch onto something hilarious.

For supper we're having roasted garlic-lemon chicken with the skin on so it gets all crispy golden and a little greasy. Also Parmesan-stuffed zucchini and hot buttered egg noodles. Perhaps you've noticed we are on neither the Paleo diet nor Atkins. And I wish I could boast that the noodles are made from scratch, but they're just not. They were on sale, though. So there's that.

Then to wash all of that down we'll try a new chocolate chip cookie recipe. Like most people, we have had our favorite said cookie for many years and don't deviate too easily. But sweet Edie over at lifeingrace says that these delicacies are worthy of their own Facebook page. Ha!! Awesome. That's my kinda cookie!  So I have a big sweet, salty batch mixed up and am just now inhaling the first tendrils of sugary, chocolaty aromas from the oven. The fact that it's interlaced with buttery garlic and sometimes that bright green jolt of softening zucchini does not hurting my feelings.

I seem to have our caloric intake covered for tonight. Maybe enough for tomorrow, too. So that leaves us still needing the hysterical, eye watering, stomach stiffening laughter. What do you say? What can you offer us that might make us laugh uncontrollably tonight??

LOL, please!

    1. "Murder sheyed..." That really should NOT be as funny as it is!!! Love you, thank you.

  2. I have some video of my jBird reading the ingredients of items at the dinner table in a grouchy old man voice, that made me laugh until I cried. I also have some video of my wee Hooligan reciting Galatians 5:22 in his underwear. That makes me smile in a different way. I'll have to figure out how to share those with you. Guaranteed grinners. Blessings and full bellies to you both. xo

  3. Have you seen Kristen Bell on the Ellen Show yet? This is one of my favorite funny things to watch -- she is so sweet, and I definitely feel the crying emotional scale thing (perhaps not about sloths, but I get it in general). Here's a Youtube link for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5jw3T3Jy70

    Wishing you happy thoughts.

    1. Omigosh, we keep that clip on tap for emergencies. YES. My husband claims that will be my exact reaction if I ever get a monkey instead of a sloth.

Why didn't I think of it? That is historically funny! Bound to be a classic. LOL Thank you!!

And thanks for visiting from Periphery! Crazy about your henna!

  4. Bridesmaids - watch it, laugh hysterically, feel better. Add a nice glass of wine to the evening and you're all set. Sorry you're not feeling your usual cheery self. Hope the blues go away soon.

    How is Savanahh doing?

    1. Really good choice Heather! Is it Megan McCarthy who was so funny in that? Love her. My little sister suggested Bad Teacher, also pretty funny!

Savannah has had some ups and downs. Stable for now but still critical, still in need of constant prayer. The family has already been seeing daily miracles and answer to prayer, so their strength is improving, but please continue to pray. Thank you for asking! xoxo

And thanks for the laugh. ; )

  6. Marie! I so wish I had something funny to share with you. I'm one of those people who can NEVER remember jokes correctly or tell funny stories bc I always forget key parts. It's awful! But I did go watch the video db suggested! I agree, Classic! And I can SO relate to her cry scale. That is SO me! Did my heart good to know someone else is that close to tears at any given moment! LOL! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead. Blessings sweet girl!

Hey thanks for commenting! I love hearing from people. It's the best. I have recently added word verification, a necessary annoyance. Have a wonderful day!
